Compliance"Have we ever sold to any company with Russia in the name?"
Inventory"What CFM56-5B parts have zero stock?"

Email Assist

Paste or screenshot a customer RFQ email. MERLIN extracts part numbers, searches stock, and drafts a reply — in under 30 seconds.

Compliance

Sanctions screening, due diligence, and high-risk entity management. Screen any company or individual against the sanctions lists before transacting. The UK OFSI and US OFAC lists update automatically twice a day.

🛡️

Sanctions screening

UK OFSI, US OFAC, credit watch, internal bans

LIVE▼
1

Go to Compliance → Due Diligence

Enter a company or individual name and click Search.

2

Review the result

Checks the UK OFSI list, the US OFAC SDN list, credit watch and internal bans. CLEAR = no match.

3

DD history

Last 20 searches stored. Click Re-run on any past search to refresh against current data.

4

The lists update by themselves

The UK OFSI and US OFAC lists are downloaded automatically at 05:30 and 13:30 UTC every day. Each run is written to the Audit Log (look for SANCTIONS_SYNC), including any download problem. You can also press Sync UK OFSI or Sync US OFAC SDN on the Entity List tab to run it straight away.

OFAC lists ships and aircraft as well as companies and people. MERLIN leaves ships out, and keeps aircraft in a separate list that the Compliance Check uses for registration and serial numbers, because their one-word names (for example MIRAGE) wrongly flagged real customers. If someone is removed from a sanctions list, their entry is switched off automatically on the next sync. Only people with Manage Compliance can run the sync by hand.
Always screen before quoting — especially new customers or any entity connected to Russia, Belarus, Iran, North Korea, or Syria. UK law requires this. A match must go to Sakina immediately.

Pre-sale Compliance Check

One screen to check a customer and a deal before you quote or ship. It runs the sanctions, destination country and dangerous goods checks together and gives a single answer. Open it from Sales → Pre-sale compliance check in the sidebar (the Sales group may be folded shut, so click Sales to open it). The Compliance screen is the list of banned and sanctioned names; it has a button that jumps straight to the check. Anyone who can use parts search can use it. The check is advisory: it records a clear answer but does not stop a quote or dispatch by itself.

✅

Screen a customer and destination

BLOCK, REVIEW or CLEAR, saved with a record number

LIVE▼
1

Fill in the form

Customer name is required. Add the destination country (name or 2-letter code), the customer e-mail, a reference (quote or order number), any part numbers, and if you know it the aircraft registration or serial number.

2

Read the verdict

It checks the name and e-mail domain against the sanctions lists (including near-matches and overrides), the destination country, the part numbers for dangerous goods, and the aircraft registration against the US OFAC sanctioned aircraft list (a registration match blocks, a serial number match asks for review). The customer record is shown for information only. Below the form, Recent checks lists the last 50 checks by everyone.

VerdictMeaning
BLOCKDO NOT PROCEED. Escalate to Sakina.
REVIEWREFER TO COMPLIANCE. Something needs a person to look at it.
CLEARSCREENS PASSED. Both the sanctions and the country checks came back clear.
Read this: nothing can show CLEAR until the Restricted Countries list has been loaded (it is empty today, so every check shows REVIEW). The dangerous goods list is also empty, so that check is shown but does not change the verdict. This is a screen, not a legal clearance. It is advisory only: it does not stop a quote or a dispatch. Every check is saved with a record number so there is a trail.

Trace Vault

Keep the paperwork that travels with a part (8130-3, certificate of conformity, back-to-birth, teardown report) filed against its part number and serial number, so anyone can produce it in seconds. Open it from Parts → Trace Vault. Anyone who can use parts search can file and open documents.

📁

Find paperworkType a part or serial number in Find documents and press Search. Press Open to download the file.
Remove a wrong oneAdministrators press Hide. The file stays on the server and the action is logged; it just stops showing in the list.
Files are checked by their contents, so a renamed program or web page is refused. Every upload, download and hide is written to the Audit Log. The same file cannot be filed twice against the same part and serial.

Accounts that might match a sanctions entry are held back and listed separately for Sakina to review. Bad payers and inactive customers are left out. After the OFAC list loads, a few more customers may appear in the held-back list. That is expected and they need a compliance check, not a quote.

Results show every part number that appears in both engine types, with the nomenclature/description from each engine’s IPC.

Key finding: 248 part numbers are common between RB211-524 and Trent 500. This is commercially significant — parts from RB211 teardowns may be sellable to Trent 500 operators and vice versa.
For the sales team: When quoting Trent 500 parts, check commonality first. If a requested Trent 500 PN also appears in the RB211 catalogue, we may have it in stock from CFM/RB211 inventory.
